JaxB and Simica

Has anyone ever used JaxB with the IEEE Simica Standard?
http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/scc20/ATML/ I have been having some
issues with it.

Many bodies publish XML Schemas modeling their world without consideration for any particular system with which to process the corresponding XML files. Moreover, XML itself hasn't been developed with the intent of fitting the data model of any programming language, and Java isn't the only language where the symmetric difference between XML Schema and language X is non-empty.

JAXB does provide some hacks to cope with some of the problems arising from that.

If you can provide samples of your issues this list might provide some hints.
