Patch support for JAXB-980, JAXB-981 & JAXB-983

Przemysław Bielicki
Hi,

is JAXB under active development? I opened few requests and sent patches i.e.:
https://java.net/jira/browse/JAXB-980
https://java.net/jira/browse/JAXB-981
https://java.net/jira/browse/JAXB-983

but I see no moves there. I'd like to get these improvements / bugs implemented as soon as possible.

I'm backed by a quite big software company but the last thing we want to do is to create own fork of JAXB and maintain it. That's why I submitted patches that fix our problems, while keeping backward compatibility.

Can you give me more visibility on issues in question?
We cannot wait very long for these changes to be integrated.

Many thanks,
Przemyslaw Bielicki

Hi,

Yes, JAXB is in active development. We are woking mainly on maintenance now. Also we have several new things in a queue to be implemented.

Regarding the patches. We are not able to work with them until you sign Oracle Contributor Agreement [1] (OCA),
scan it and e-mail the result to oracle-ca_us(at)oracle.com. More about it
you can read in [2].

Thanks for your ideas.

Hi,

OK - I was not aware of these restrictions.

I will check the agreement and will sign it ASAP (unless it's a kind of deal with the devil ;)

Many thanks,
Przemyslaw Bielicki

Re: Patch support for JAXB-980, JAXB-981 & JAXB-983

Jorge Williams
Interesting,

I've been having the same issue.  I sent a patch back in june:

https://java.net/jira/browse/JAXB-967

and never got feedback or anything.

Our team has been waiting a long time for the feature.  I'll be filling out the agreement as well.

Hi, Jorge,

Thank you for your mail. I'll saw your patch, but because it's 'new feature' I've postponed it's processing.

We now a really quite busy with maintenance.

Thanks once again. And you are right. I'll be able to work with your patch after you'll sing OCA.

Hi Iaroslav,

I saw you received the confirmation of my OCA acceptance.

This way, could you please integrate my patches into HEAD?

Many thanks,
Przemyslaw

Hi,

you mentioned that the project is in the active dev phase but I'm waiting to integrate my patches for over a month now.

Could you please let me know when you can take a look at changes I proposed?

Cheers,
Przemyslaw Bielicki
